The 2027 All-Illinois Junior Band will present the World Premier of a new work by Carol Brittin Chambers with the composer conducting.
The new work, commissioned by the Xi Chapter of Phi Beta Mu, will be based on the Illinois state song. Many thanks to Matt Bufis, President, Phi Beta Mu Xi Chapter, Illinois for reaching out with this amazing opportunity!
Phi Beta Mu is a non-political, non-profit fraternity organized to promote fellowship among its members, to encourage the building of better bands and the development of better musicians in schools throughout the world, to foster a deeper appreciation for quality wind literature, and to encourage widespread interest in band performance. The Illinois chapter has over 100 active members from throughout all geographic regions and teaching levels and meets annually during the Illinois Music Educators Conference in Peoria each January.
